About Me
Hi, I'm Chris, a guitar teacher based in West Bridgford, Nottingham. I've been playing the guitar for over 25 years and have been teaching in a professional capacity for the last 15.
I teach both acoustic and electric guitar. I play live in various line ups and styles, performing in many venues across the East Midlands. I have been involved in session work; recording, and have shared a stage with amongst others Ian Brown (Stone Roses).
My keen interest and enthusiasm has allowed me to teach in three West Bridgford primary schools and a specialist school, Dawn House in Mansfield.
I am married and live in West Bridgford.
Styles Taught
Pop, Rock, Soul, Funk, Blues, Jazz, Reggae, R&B, and Rock N Roll.
These styles can be learned through many bands and artists from The Beatles to Ed Sheeran.
Lessons
Half hour or hour
GUITAR MUSIC
What you learn is a mix of chord and melodies. Students will be shown how to make sense of the many ways guitar music is written.
PRACTICE ADVICE
Stressing the importance of how to practice and working through techniques to improve timing.
INSTRUMENT ADVICE
Explaining the difference between electric and acoustic guitars. Advice on brands, sizes and quality. Stressing the need for important accessories.
ROCK SCHOOL EXAM SYSTEM (optional)
Coaching you through a modern music exam grade book system. Grades 1 - 8 are available to take locally.
